Just heard (via Variety) that the US distribution details for Fahrenheit 9/11 have been finalized. The film will be distributed through a joint venture of Lions Gate Films, IFC Films and Harvey and Bob Weinstein's Fellowship Adventure Group. Filmbrain is going to type that name again. Fellowship Adventure Group. Is Filmbrain alone in thinking this is an odd choice for a company (or group) name? (Or is the age of acronyms over?)
It gets weirder. Michael Moore had the following to say:
"With Frodo (Harvey) and Sam (Bob) now in charge of the Fellowship, I welcome the addition of Lions Gate and IFC to our quest in bringing good family entertainment to the viewing public."Surely, between the group's name, and the idea of H & B as Frodo and Sam, there's a joke in there....somewhere. (Come to think of it, Harv and Bob are a bit Hobbit-like, yes? Perhaps too tall, but everything else. . .)
Still, good news all around. The film will be released in just a few weeks -- on June 25th.

Furry feet and pipeweed, eh?

Harvey certainly eats like a hobbit, or maybe he just ate a few hobbits.
